Today is my first use. The installation instructions are lacking so you have to look at a youtube video or two, but it's not very complicated. I've had NO connection issues, and as a 20 year tech guy, I am amazed at how good the app is. Simple and intuitive. For the last 3 hours, it held my 225 degree temperature within a degree. When I opened the top of my egg so I could wrap the ribs in foil, as expected the Egg ramped up in temp from the extra air, and now it's been slowly decreasing. But from 225 the highest it hit was 240 and now it's almost back. As you probably know, there is no way to "cool" the egg, you just wait it out until it settles back in. When you take a break for the "texas crutch" there is no choice but to allow an influx of air. Otherwise, it is BEYOND my expectation since it's held within one degree all day so far.One note, is that you have to bring the Egg up close to temperature before you turn it over to the Genius. Because as good as the genius is, it doesn't know when you are starting up the coals, or just maintaining them. My target was 225 so when my dome thermometer hit about 175, I put on the Genius and turned it over to it and it brought it up to 225 and held constant for my first 2.5 hour stage of my rib technique.
